Acting CEO Arrangements

The Stadiums Tasmania Board has commenced a formal recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer following the announcement inaugural CEO James Avery will step down from the role.

To ensure continuity of leadership during this period, Chief Operating Officer David Large has been appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective 6 October 2026, following the conclusion of James’ tenure.

David brings significant organisational knowledge and leadership experience to the role and will lead Stadiums Tasmania while the recruitment process is underway.

The Board is confident David will provide strong leadership and maintain momentum in delivering Stadiums Tasmania's strategic priorities, operational objectives and stakeholder relationships.

David will work closely with outgoing CEO James Avery through the leadership transition.
