Stadiums Tasmania welcomes the Tasmanian Parliament’s decision to progress the Macquarie Point Stadium project.

As the designated future owner and operator of the Macquarie Point Stadium, Stadiums Tasmania acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of all Parliamentary Members for the significant time and effort involved in carefully considering the Macquarie Point Precinct Order and indeed the efforts of all parties involved in the Project of State Significance process.

This decision represents a landmark milestone for what Stadiums Tasmania believes will be a transformational project that is set to deliver significant cultural, economic and social outcomes for all Tasmanians. This decision brings the necessary certainty and confidence to deliver a truly multipurpose venue that will elevate Tasmania's ability to host world-class sport, entertainment, business and community events.

Stadiums Tasmania, as the future custodians of the venue, will continue to play a key role in the project's ongoing design development, working closely with the Macquarie Point Development Corporation.
